Brad specialises in advising clients on all tax aspects of transactions, from diligence to structuring to contractual support and modelling, helping ensure that value is maximised both in and beyond the deal itself. Brad is known for leading multi-disciplinary projects with lawyers, regulators and financiers to ensure speed of execution and no surprises.
Brad has advised on tax for over 14 years, specialising in M&A tax in the private equity, financial services and capital markets for most of that time. He worked in the London Transaction Tax team for six years, where he was responsible for Transaction Tax in the Asset Management sector across Europe and the Middle East, and at the New Zealand Exchange implementing M&A activity. Brad has led the execution of inbound and outbound M&A transactions, cross-border reorganisations, structuring, and tax due diligence engagements in New Zealand and across the globe, including Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Asia and the US
Brad is a Chartered Accountant and qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. Brad holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration (Majoring in Accounting and Commercial Law), Diploma in Professional Accounting and Bachelor of Laws, all from Victoria University of Wellington. Brad also sits on the NZVCA Council.
Brad is an avid sports fan and outdoor person, who loves skiing, scuba diving, wakeboarding, fishing, rugby and playing tennis, when he can juggle the time with a young family.
