Kirsty is a Director of EY law and also leads New Zealand’s Tax Controversy practice. She applies her extensive public and private practice legal and disputes experience to assist clients in Australia and New Zealand with all manner of dealings with the Inland Revenue Department. EY’s Tax Controversy practice operates via a global network involving dedicated specialists around the world.
Kirsty has assisted in numerous tax disputes for companies and individuals involving direct and indirect tax issues, tax risk management, audits/risk reviews, and has specialist knowledge relating to issues involving allegations of tax avoidance. Kirsty’s team also assists clients in document management, inclusive of clients’ internal staff training, and categorisation of electronic data mined and hard copy material during the information gathering phase of Inland Revenue investigations.
Kirsty holds an LLM (Hons) from the University of Auckland in Tax and Commercial Law; and is admitted to the bar in New Zealand and in New South Wales.
Kirsty enjoys travelling, cooking, entertaining and spending time with her family.
