Our new partners

Brad Wheeler (Left)

Brad has been advising on tax for over 12 years and joins the Transaction Tax team in our Auckland office, led by Richard Williams. Brad specialises in M&A tax in the capital markets, financial services and private equity industries, spending the last six years in London. He has previously worked at the New Zealand Exchange, implementing M&A activity and prior to that, at another large services firm. Brad has experience leading the execution of inbound and outbound M&A transactions, cross-border reorganisations and structuring, and tax due diligence. Brad has led multi-disciplinary projects with various workstreams and advisors, particularly financial, regulatory and legal advisers. Previous engagements across New Zealand and internationally include Fortissimo Capital Fund, NZX, JC Flowers, AnaCap Financial Partners, Pamplona Capital Partners, Barclays Bank, Virgin Money, Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank, GE, Habib Bank, Phoenix Life, AXA, AIG, Schroders and number of UK and European headed asset management businesses

Grant Hodges (Right)

Grant has been involved in the  development and financing of infrastructure projects and public-private partnerships (PPPs)  since 1997. Grant's work with Serco has seen him leading the development of infrastructure bids and projects and major new opportunities such as developing Serco's equity position on Sydney metro (A$4bn PPP), investigating rail and bus acquisitions opportunities in Canada, the UK and Brazil,and developing the Wiri PPP consortium in New Zealand. Grant leads EY’s Infrastructure Advisory business in New Zealand. He has deep experience in social infrastructure projects (especially Health, Education, Defence and corrections sectors) and in Economic Infrastructure (especially water, waste, renewable energy and rail) projects.  Previously Grant was an Infrastructure Advisory Partner at another large services firm in the UK.
