There are seven steps to complete before we can welcome you on board. This process will help you make sure you are applying for the right role and give you the opportunity to get to know us before you begin work here.
Identify your interests
Take a moment to visit Your role here to learn about our service lines and identify your area of interest. You can then apply for the relevant opportunity in Assurance, Advisory, Transactions or Tax.
Search for opportunities
Click on Job search and look for openings in your chosen area of interest. You’ll find more information about specific requirements in the job descriptions.
This is your opportunity to give us as much information about yourself as possible so that we can make sure that you’ll be successful at SGV. We ask all applicants to complete the online application form to ensure everyone is assessed fairly and objectively. A member of our recruitment team reviews each application. If you need to, you can save your application and complete it at a later time.
Prepare for the assessment process
Once you have successfully passed the CPA Licensure Exam given by the Philippine Regulatory Commission, we will invite you to attend our Welcome Reception for New CPAs. During the day, we are particularly keen to find out about you as a person – your strengths and attributes, and what you’re interested in. You will also get the chance to talk to the Managers and Partners of different Service Lines and this will be a great opportunity to ask questions or clarify matters that pertains to your interest in joining the firm.
Review our offer
Our standard application process will be given to those who have already passed the initial screening stage. After the initial assessment that will be conducted by the Recruitment Team. The identified potential hires will be asked to return on a specific date. If you’re successful at this stage, we’ll make you a formal offer.
Prepare to join
You’ll find a large community of people at SGV ready to welcome you. On your first day, you will be attending the SGV New Hires Orientation Program which will be conducted by HR. We encourage you to take advantage of this occasion to help prepare for your first day of work. You will also attend a 2 week training that is Service Line specific before you will be officially deployed to your respective clusters.

Applying to SGV
I'm a student. What are my opportunities with SGV after I passed the CPA Board Exams?
As a graduate, you will be engaged on a probationary basis for six (6) months. You will be assigned to a particular Market Group depending on your Service Line. SGV will be able to provide you with the right experience for the job and you will be working with the best people in the firm.
How do I start the application process?
Familiarize yourself with our eligibility requirements. You need to complete the initial screening process that will be conducted by the Recruitment Team.
Pre-employment medical exam will also be given to check if you are fit to work. If you fail this last requirement, the firm may not be able to consider your application.
If you successfully pass all stages of the initial assessment, you will be made a job offer.
Do you offer internship positions to international students?
Depending on the need and the requirement of the requesting group, the SGV may be able to accept foreign students studying from other countries. This is subject for the approval of the Service Line Head and Market Group Head.
What majors besides accounting does SGV hire?
As a global professional services organisation, we tackle diverse and challenging clients and projects. Developing excellent relationships and delivering effective business solutions requires specialists from many different subject areas – not just accounting or commerce. These include human resources, information systems, information technology, computer science, engineering, law, science, environmental studies, actuarial studies, economics, finance, maths, arts and psychology.
Do you accept applications from post-graduate students?
Yes, we do. We employ post-graduates with a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences who have completed Law, Masters, and MBAs degrees.
What does SGV look for in potential employees?
The selection process is not just based on academic performance. We are looking for well-rounded candidates with good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. We also want someone who will work well in a team and who is enthusiastic and motivated to learn.
Are there any offices where it's easier to obtain an interview or offer?
All our offices require the same high standards of academic qualifications, competencies and personal qualities. However, our Makati office recruits higher numbers of graduates, giving you increased opportunities to apply and interview.
Can I speak to someone about your recruiting process and available programs?
Yes, you may contact the SGV Recruitment Team at any time. You may also wish to consult with any of your school Alumni who are working or have worked in the firm.
You’ll see us on campus, and review schools or at our offices so we do hope you will take opportunity to ask us questions to gain more information and insights that will help you make an informed decision about pursuing a career with SGV.
What happens once we receive your application?
As soon as we receive your application, you need to wait for a day or two to be invited for an exam and interview. Given the large number of our applicants, we can only accommodate those who are scheduled. You need to wait for a minimum of 3 days to 1 week on the status of your application depending on the number of applicants in a day.

How is SGV structured?
SGV is a global organization made up of member firms in more than 150 countries. Each member firm is owned by its partners and they have operational control of their business. However, in order to maintain the same high standards of service quality and delivery in each of our locations, we have a global governance structure. This consists of four geographic Areas, each with an Area Executive that works in close partnership with our Global Executive, headed up by our CEO, Mark Weinberger. To support our efforts as a global organisation, we also have a global entity, SGV Global, which works strategically with each of our Areas to support consistency and excellence in all of our activities around the world.

How do I choose which service line to join?
The right choice for you‘ll reflect your area of interest and specialisation. Have a good look around our website to get a feel for who we are and the services we offer. Then speak with your teachers, campus career advisors, family members or the SGV recruitment team to gather all the information you need to understand where you may best fit. SGV is growing and expanding in new and exciting business areas, so there are lots of opportunities for you to consider. Can I apply for a job outside my home country?
You are able to apply for any open positions you see in any one of our 140 countries that hires graduates. Your eligibility, however, depends on the hiring country’s qualification requirements, employment laws, work permit and/or visa requirements.
What is the organization’s policy on flexible working?

Will SGV help me get other certifications such as CISA, CFA, CIA
Yes, the firm provides support in terms of reimbursement of exam fees/cost of review materials if the staff passed any of the following professional certifications:

Once I join what opportunities do I have for working in another country?
We're committed to offering our people international experiences. What influence will I have over my career progression?

Life at SGV
What's expected of me in the first few days, weeks and months of my career?
Regardless whether you join us as an intern, or a fresh graduate, you're not expected to know your job inside-out on your first day with the firm. Your development will start on day one, where you'll partake in our firm-wide induction and training program which will cover your first 2 weeks with us. Your development will continue progressively throughout your first year - and throughout your entire career with us.
When will I start work?
The hiring season is usually scheduled following the CPA board examinations every May and October. However, depending on the needs of the business we may be able to offer you some flexibility in terms of your start date.
What hours will I work a week?
Our core hours of work are from 8:00am to 5:30 pm, which will require you to complete a total of 40 hours a week. However, your hours will vary according to the work or engagement in which you're involved. Occasionally, there may be some weekend work, particularly during busy periods. We encourage teams at all levels to work flexibly and discuss and negotiate how to meet the demands of each engagement. By communicating regularly with your team and counsellor, you'll be able understand their expectations and plan your time effectively.
What is the average starting salary?
In addition to the training, development and support you receive during your career, we reward you for your commitment and potential through performance based remuneration, flexibility and a range of benefits.
We know your salary isn’t the most important thing but we know it’s important. That’s why we spend a significant amount of time reviewing market salary data to ensure we offer you a competitive salary rate that is attractive and commensurate with our competitors. And, this continues throughout your career as we review market data on an ongoing basis.
What do people wear at SGV?
Our office dress policy is contemporary business wear. However, we're providing a professional service to our clients and they expect us to look the part, so formal business attire is appropriate for meetings with clients. The exception to this rule is when you're based at client sites, in which case you may adopt the client's dress code policy or you are expected to go on an out-of-town assignment to service your provincial clients.
What is the social life like in the office?
Here, you'll find individuals representing a variety of backgrounds, opinions and perspectives but united by a shared set of values. This means that there are plenty of groups and networks built around shared issues and interests. These range from hobbies, sports and creative or intellectual pursuits through to support and volunteer opportunities. Regardless of your background or areas of focus, you'll find colleagues who share your interests.

The environment is very important, what is SGV's approach towards sustainability?
We recognise that we have a corporate responsibility to the environment and believe in making it possible for our people to contribute on an individual basis. As an organisation we've implemented various strategies. For example, reducing the need for overseas travel through the use of video and teleconferencing; and sourcing green energy suppliers wherever possible. We also believe in corporate social responsibility covering other areas such as nation-building, education and other advocacies. Recently we completed various activities such as our Gawad Kalinga Village 88 project to build 88 homes for the needy, a Fun Run for charity, and various other programs which profess our commitment to supporting various communities.
I have personal commitments that are important to me. Can I still join SGV?
We understand that success is broader than what you achieve at the office.
