Conference: Legislative adoption of IFRSs
in Russia
Moscow, 22 November 2010, Holiday Inn Sokolniki
Held by Ernst&Young in association with the IFRS Foundation
On 27-th of July 2010, the Federal Law “On consolidated financial statements” was adopted. While major Russian companies have been preparing financial statements under IFRSs for a number of years already, some from early 1990s, this Law, requiring all public companies to publish their consolidated IFRS financial statements, signifies a major step forward in the financial reporting in Russia, for the first time introducing IFRSs as issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) as a legislative requirement.
The conference held by Ernst & Young in association with the IFRS Foundation on 22 November 2010 in Moscow brought together representatives of the Central bank of Russia, the Ministry of Finance, the Audit Chamber of Russia, the IFRS Foundation and major Russian companies.
