Ernst & Young launches a Global Cleantech Center of Excellence
LONDON, MOSCOW, 26 July 2010 – Ernst & Young has accelerated its focus in the cleantech marketplace by launching a Global Cleantech Center of Excellence to serve as the hub for a worldwide network of professionals focused on addressing cleantech-specific issues across all market and company segments.
“Cleantech has captured the attention of global businesses large and small, as well as governments around the world and entrepreneurs,” says Gil Forer, Ernst & Young’s Global Cleantech Leader. “They are all looking at the potential of cleantech to create jobs, foster innovation, drive growth and establish competitive advantage in the fast-changing global economy.”
“Public and private investments in cleantech have increased substantially in recent years. We have seen unprecedented levels of stimulus funding, new policies and regulations, a robust pipeline of innovative technologies and business models, and the emergence of new multi-billion dollar market cap businesses and developing markets like China and Brazil really leveraging cleantech for a competitive advantage strategy.”
The Global Cleantech Center of Excellence will connect with relevant industry centers across the Ernst & Young global organization – such as Automotive and Power & Utilities – to deliver insights and solutions through Ernst & Young’s core services of Assurance, Tax, Transactions and Advisory. Stephen Almassy, Global Industry Vice Chair at Ernst & Young, said: “We continue to invest heavily in our industry capabilities. The opening of our new Global Cleantech Center of Excellence emphasizes our commitment to respond to the changing needs of the market.”
"We believe that Russia has an important role to play in the development of the Cleantech industry. Russia’s human potential and current governmental policy may make it one of the global industry centers. We hope that by using the Ernst & Young Global Cleantech Center of Excellence, we will be able to deliver the best practice solutions to both businesses and the government," says Ksenia Leschinskaya, Head of Climate Change and Sustainability Services in the CIS.
