The winner of Russia’s Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 Award announced
MOSCOW, 26 NOVEMBER 2010 ― The winner of the national stage of Ernst & Young's World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award has been named. Maxim Nogotkov, President of Svyaznoy group of companies, Moscow, was announced Russia's Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 at the finalist awards ceremony held on 25 November.He will represent Russia at the international stage of the competition in Monte Carlo, Monaco, in May 2011.
In 1995, Maxim Nogotkov founded Maksus – a wholesale distributor of audio equipment and means of communication. In 2001, the company engaged in sales of mobile phones, and it was decided to establish a retail trade network under a single brand. Svyaznoy as a company was presented to the mass media and the buyers on 23 April 2002.
Today the group comprises about 2,300 sales outlets throughout Russia and 70 in the Republic of Belarus. Svyaznoy holds 25% of the market for mobile phone sales. The brand 'Svyaznoy' is also closely related to financial services: obtaining and reimbursing loans, making money transfers, paying for the services of various providers and for utilities. The first branch of Svyaznoy Bank was launched on 13 October 2010.
