Vladivostok, 6 September 2012 : EY, a leading global provider of assurance and advisory services, announced the opening of its new office in Vladivostok a few days ahead of the 2012 APEC CEO Summit. This strategic decision is aimed at strengthening EY’s activities in Primorsky Krai.

“Primorsky Krai is a region with a strong industrial base,” said Karl Johansson, EY CIS Sub-Area Managing Partner. “With considerable potential and a growing economy, both Russian and foreign investors have shown a genuine interest in the region. Favorably located close to the leading rapid-growth markets in Asia-Pacific, Vladivostok is an important transport hub and a link between Russia and the Asian countries.”

Local industries, such as retail, communications, mining, agriculture, fishing, food processing and machine building, are mature enough to be attractive destinations for major Russian and foreign companies willing to invest in existing enterprises or start up new businesses.

“Primorsky Krai opens up new opportunities for us to promote our practice in the Far East,” commented Alexander Ivlev, EY Country Managing Partner for Russia. “We are keen to intensify cooperation with companies that already operate in the Far East or intend to expand into the market. Our office in Vladivostok will help us leverage the knowledge and expertise of our specialists in the interests of business in the region.”
