Day 1

  • Fundamentals of internal control
  • Determining responsibility: the role of the Board of Directors, managers and staff
  • Components of the COSO model “Internal control” (1992): detailed analysis and practical application
  •  Case Study: identification weaknesses of internal control
  • Internal control and informational systems: general and application controls
  • Business processes management: the essence of need for internal control
  •  Case Study: identification weaknesses of internal control in IT
  • Identifying control procedures in accordance with business processes: procurement, production, marketing
  •  Case Study: preparing recommendations for the internal control improvement (the beginning)
Day 2

  • Identifying control procedures in accordance with business processes: sales, investments and finance, financial and operational accounting
  •  Case Study: preparing recommendations for the internal control improvement (to be continued)
  • The Sarbanes-Oxley Act and internal control (optional).
