Max Loh Welcome

Globalization continues to define the current business landscape. Organizations that understand its significance seek well-rounded global business portfolios as a way to stay ahead.

This issue, we highlight why seizing market opportunities across today’s varied and most promising markets – particularly the BRICs and other emerging markets – remain central to sustainable business growth. Yet, great strategies are not going anywhere without great people. Leading entrepreneurs know this and are expected to up their hiring for 2013. Also, we share why successful divestments hinge on effectively leveraging human capital.

We also cast the spotlight on China, as we share recent developments in the country's law administration that affect foreigners, and how organizations can better deal with the VAT issues unique to the country.

In addition, find out what counts for an effective capital agenda, and how companies around the world are dealing with employment issues and more in Capital Insights and Citizen Today respectively.

Lastly, join us at our upcoming events as we share in-depth perspectives on the 2013 Budget proposals, among others.
