As we approach the year end, we are pleased to present a seminar in preparation for 2012 year end reporting season. We will discuss potential areas of focus for the year end and highlight changes in Financial Reporting Standards that affect the current year i.e., financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2012 and other developments in financial reporting standards.

The seminar will focus on the practical challenges in adopting and applying the new standard on fair value measurement that will come into effect in 2013 and other new and revised standards that are effective in 2012 and 2013.

A new standard that changes the definition of control over an investee will be effective in 2014. In preparation for the adoption of this new standard, we will discuss the changes and how they will impact the evaluation of an entity’s interests in other entities as investments in subsidiary, joint venture or associate.

In May 2012, the Monetary Authority of Singapore issued the revised Code of Corporate Governance (2012 Code). The 2012 Code introduced changes concerning director independence, Board composition, multiple directorships, remuneration practices and disclosures, risk management as well as shareholder rights and roles. Many of these changes will be effective for financial year commencing on or after 1 November 2012. In this seminar, we will highlight some of the key changes introduced.
