Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards program was initiated to honor entrepreneurs whose ingenuity and perseverance have created and sustained successful business ventures and to encourage entrepreneurial spirit around the world.

The program that was originated in the United States by Ernst & Young in 1986, offers the first and only truly global award of its kind. The distinguished tradition that has expanded to almost 125 cities in over 50 countries around the globe, continues to build prestige and reputation every year.

The success of past winners including Dell Computer, Amazon.com, Starbucks, Sun Microsystems, Time Warner Telecom, and America Online, yet as emerging ventures, demonstrates the significance of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards program.

Entrepreneur of the Year Program - Turkey

The Turkish practice of the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year awards program celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year was initiated in 2004 by Ernst & Young Turkey in collaboration with the Turkish newspaper Milliyet.

Each year, the Entrepreneur of the Year awards program in Turkey presents a more challenging benchmark for excellence and continues to gain recognition across the country. In Turkey and throughout the world, the program began to serve as an important medium enabling “Turkish entrepreneurs” achieve their deserved position in public opinion.

This year, the 5th annual Entrepreneur of the Year awards program was organized in Turkey by Ernst & Young and Milliyet under the sponsorship of Fortis and in collaboration with the Schwab Foundation.

Risk Management Summit

Active Academy organizes the annual Risk Management Summit under the sponsorship of Ernst & Young, during when the concept of risk management was brought to agenda for the first time in Turkey, and the changing and evolving risk management practices are discussed with all aspects. Substantial progress is achieved in improving the perception of risk management, and fostering the utilization of relevant products and services during the summit that hosts professionals, as well as top business and government executives. Speakers from Ernst & Young Turkey and foreign offices participate in the summit, and we contribute by our thought leadership, practices and experiences.

International Finance Summit

Active Academy organizes the annual International Finance Summit under the sponsorship of Ernst & Young. The main theme of the summit is to develop Istanbul as one of the major financial centers in the world. During the summit, Istanbul’s existing position in the international finance world is assessed; the strategies to be adopted and the solutions to be developed that would enable Istanbul achieve its deserved position are discussed in detail. Future goals, competitive advantages of and expectations from Istanbul, comparative analysis of Istanbul with global financial centers, prerequisites to become a financial center at macro and micro levels, and the real estate industry are among the important topics addressed. Ernst & Young Turkey and Ernst & Young Global continue to contribute to summit that aims to shape the future.

Insurance Summit

Active Academy organized its Insurance Summit, bringing together the important players in the insurance sector for the first time this year, under the sponsorship of Ernst & Young. Decision-makers in the public sector, top business executives, and Ernst & Young Turkey - through its thought leadership and broad experiences - contribute to summit. Important topics including the Competition, Reform, and Stability in the Turkish Insurance Sector are discussed during the summit that makes important contributions to exchange of information in the financial sector. Speakers from Ernst & Young Global provide direction also through their insight and work.
