Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011

Recognized globally, our awards honor the most outstanding entrepreneurs who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.

Created in the United States in 1986, our Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards program has grown to more than 135 cities in 50 countries, with awards presented to hundreds of the world’s most successful and innovative entrepreneurs.

Past winners have included business luminaries such as Jean-Paul Clozel of Actelion Pharmaceuticals, Michael Dell of Dell Computer, Howard Schultz of Starbucks, and Pierre Omidyar of eBay.

Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Taiwan program was established in 2005, to recognize entrepreneurs who are building and leading extraordinary, growing, and dynamic businesses, and inspire others with their vision, leadership, and achievements. The international recognition of this award positions all the Taiwan recipients as world-class entrepreneurs, and provides a benchmark for entrepreneurial excellence and models for the future entrepreneurs in Taiwan.

The country winner will go on to represent Taiwan at an international awards ceremony next year in Monte Carlo, Monaco, where he or she will compete for the prestigious title of Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year. Entrepreneurs such as Barry Lam of Quanta Computer Inc., Teng-Hsiung Chao of Farglory Land Development Co., Ltd., King Liu of Giant Inc., Chris Tsai of Bionet, Scott Ouyoung of Globe Union Industrial Corp. and Bruce Cheng of Delta Electronics are awarded in the past 6 years.

The program also represents a unique opportunity to network with business leaders from Taiwan and around the world through the Entrepreneur Of The Year Alumni.
