CBI Annual Conference 2013

EY is delighted to have been a Strategic partner of the CBI Annual Conference for the third year running. The Conference is a highlight of the UK business calendar and brings together political leaders and business figures to discuss issues facing global businesses.

As the economy continues its recovery, we have seen increased momentum in our clients’ interest for trading with, or expanding into, overseas markets. Our global structure and scale in rapid-growth markets means that our UK offices, from Inverness to Southampton, provide a global gateway for our local clients.

Of course, in today’s complex, globalised world, not all organisations are certain about entering new markets. And after the slowest recovery from a recession in generations, it’s perhaps unsurprising that business investment to date has been cautious. But with the recovery now gathering pace, staying in 'wait and see' mode is no longer a viable option.

We believe there is a great opportunity today for UK business to expand into overseas markets. Yes, there are risks – but at EY we understand how to navigate risk, and are dedicated to helping organisations move from a strategy of survival to one of growth.

This is just one way in which we play our part in building a better working world for our clients. In a better working world trust increases, so capital flows smoothly and investors make better informed decisions.

Businesses grow sustainably, employment rises, consumers spend, and governments invest in their citizens.

People of course are critical to growth – harnessing and developing talent and encouraging collaboration is vital to success, as are diverse perspectives. We understand that in business, as in sport, you succeed by getting talent to work together with a relentless focus on winning in the market. EY is proud to be an Official Partner of The 2014 Ryder Cup and the Official Professional Advisor to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
