The team behind the team
As Official Professional Advisor, EY has been working closely with Glasgow 2014’s Organising Committee (OC) to help deliver their vision of an outstanding athlete-centred, sports-focused Games.
Our team of specialists, drawn from all four of our service lines – assurance, tax, transactions and advisory services – is providing strategic advice and specialist support across a wide remit of issues, with a fast paced internal audit service running continually to ensure EY fulfils the wishes of Lord Smith, Chairman of Glasgow 2014.
The team has also worked alongside Glasgow 2014 to tackle the many financial, logistical and organisational challenges of staging the Games. That means providing specialist support and advice across a wide range of issues including taxation of overseas athletes and workers and risk management around the transformation of Hampden Park into a world-class athletics stadium. We worked closely with Glasgow 2014 to examine the risks and governance structure of the time-critical transformation which will host not just the track, but the field athletics and the Closing Ceremony. Now that the Games are over, we are working with Glasgow 2014 to remove the track, returning Hampden to its former glory.
