Moving within the organisation
Working in different environments offers exciting and challenging experiences, both professional and personal, which will help you develop a rewarding and successful career. By matching your talents to our clients' requirements around the world, we can offer you short- or long-term international engagements as well as openings in different service lines and sectors. This enables us to satisfy the needs of our clients and our people.
Secondments
Ernst & Young provides scope to work in another area of the firm (including other service areas or offices), a client’s business or another entity. Through exposure to a specific area, you’ll garner new information, increase your knowledge of Ernst & Young, build valuable networks and improve your business acumen.
For us to realise our vision of working easily and effectively without barriers, it is essential our people have broad experience, so we provide an online register of secondment opportunities in the UK. We also run international secondments and an open global database of career options.
We also have a number of highly popular international assignment programmes. A stint abroad exposes you to foreign cultures and working practices, as well as offering you the chance to travel. These tours of duty will involve your working in one of our overseas offices for an extended period. Popular destinations include Sydney and New York.
These opportunities are extremely sought after and competition is tough. We allot places to people who have completed their training contracts successfully and built up a reputation as high performers.
Accelerated development
There are a number of ways in which you can develop advanced skills and experience once you’ve completed your graduate programme. These include the Accelerated Leadership Programme (ALP), a new way for some of our high-performing managers and executives to develop their strategic, people and management skills at a faster pace. It’s designed to prepare them for career progression and future leadership roles.
Competition for places on the course is intense and you'll need to demonstrate intellectual rigour, motivation and leadership potential. The demands of the ALP can be high in terms of time, commitment and effort, but the rewards are great.
