Kick start your professional career. If you are a Year 12 or 5th year* student in receipt of free school meals and/or the first generation of your family to go to university, then Smart Futures could be the perfect stepping stone into business.

Smart Futures wants ambitious and motivated Year 12 and 5th year* students to join the programme and unlock their career potential. Hosted at EY, one of the world's leading professional services organisations, you will be given you the opportunity to develop your skills and business knowledge. If you are chosen, you will be a part of a three week paid programme at one of EY'soffices. During this time, you will have the chance to learn about different work areas, interact with, and learn from, entrepreneurs and senior businesspeople, meet other organisations from across different industries, from the arts to financial services and healthcare, to gain hands on experience of business.

Following this unique experience, you will be offered an EY Foundation Smart Futures mentor to support you during Year 13 or 6th year*. Your mentor will provide support and encouragement to you throughout your final school year, helping you make those all-important decisions about further education and careers. So, if you are an ambitious student who enjoys taking on new challenges, Smart Futures could open up some brilliant opportunities for you.

Entry qualifications

You need to be in receipt of free school meals and/or the first in your family to go to university. You will also have to have a grade B or above in GCSE Mathematics and English Language, or a 2 or above in Mathematics and English Language for your Standard Grades, and are predicted a minimum of 300 UCAS points (or equivalent).*

*Students studying any combination of A Level or Highers subjects may apply.

The 2014 Smart Futures programme starts on the following dates:

Edinburgh and Glasgow: Monday 23 June 2014

Manchester: Monday 7 July 2014

Hull, Leeds and London: Monday 14 July 2014
