It's never too early to start planning your career. The sooner you can gain business experience and build up valuable skills and self-knowledge, the more you will stand out when it comes to applying for a graduate role.

To help you, we offer programmes that give you valuable experience while you're still at university. These range from Insight Days to Industrial Placements, working on real projects with global organisations. We will provide you with challenges from day one, helping you develop an awareness of business, as well as your own strengths and how you can play to them to build an exceptional career.

Ernst & Young Summer Internship

An exciting six-week programme that starts with fundamental business skills and ends with you doing the same work as our graduates. You'll be part of a team doing work for real clients. Find out more about the Ernst & Young Summer Internship.

Ernst & Young Global Student Exchange

An 11-week internship that includes four weeks in one of our international offices and our week-long International Intern Leadership Conference in Florida. It's a great opportunity to meet over 1,500 interns and some of our business leaders from all over the world.

Work with us in your final year

If you haven’t done so already, now’s the time to start thinking about what you’re going to do after university. Those big decisions are just around the corner, but it’s not too late to grab the knowledge, experience and credentials that’ll put you ahead in the graduate job race.

Explore your potential

At Ernst & Young we show you how to identify your natural strengths, and provide diverse and in-depth experiences to develop them in a stimulating and challenging career. When you play to your strengths you’ll perform at your best and really enjoy your work.

Our undergraduate programmes are designed to start building the self-knowledge and business exposure you need for a successful career. For instance, our Leadership Academy gives young leaders a chance to shine and learn from some of our sharpest business minds. Our Summer Internship will teach you some fundamental business skills and give you a real taste of what it’s like to work here, while our Global Student Exchange also shows you how we work for clients across borders. All of these experiences will help make you more employable when the time comes to apply for a graduate role.

We also run a development framework called Ernst & Young and You  usually called EYU. It will give you the skills, knowledge and support to grow in confidence, boost your strengths and do amazing things at work.  With regular feedback from counsellors and mentors you can take control of your career and achieve your potential.

Whichever programme you decide to join us on, we’ll support you in your development with, on-going training, experiences and coaching. With our Industrial Placement and depending on what part of the business you choose, we’ll also support you in your study towards a professional qualification.

EY Placement

Who can apply

Placements are open to penultimate year students.

You'll need these qualifications:

  • A predicted 2:1 degree in any subject.
  • At least 300 (24) UCAS points (not counting General Studies or re-sits)
  • A minimum B grade in GCSE Mathematics and English Language

Remember that we don't just want to know about your academic background. We're interested in positions of responsibility you've held and any recent work experience you've had, as well as other skills – such as team working, communication and analytical ability.

EY Summer Internship and Global Student Exchange

Who can apply

The Global Student Exchange and Summer Internship Programme are open to penultimate and final year students who are enrolled on a Masters course or who will be taking a gap year after graduation.

You'll need these qualifications:

  • A predicted 2:1 degree in any subject.
  • At least 300 (24) UCAS points for the Summer Internship and 340 (28) UCAS points for the Global Student Exchange (not counting General Studies or re-sits)
  • A minimum B grade in GCSE Mathematics and English Language

EY Leadership Academy

Who can apply

You must be in either your first or penultimate year at university, with these qualifications:

  • A predicted 2:1 degree in any subject.
  • At least 340 (28) UCAS points (not counting General Studies or re-sits)
  • A minimum B grade in GCSE Mathematics and English Language

How to apply

Just fill in our online application form. After submitting your application form, you will need to complete a strengths assessment.


EY Insight Day

Who can apply

You can apply to the EY Insight Day in any year at university, or if you've already graduated.

You must have these grades:

  • A predicted 2:1 degree in any subject.
  • At least 300 (24) UCAS points (not counting General Studies or re-sits)
  • A minimum B grade in GCSE Mathematics and English Language

How to apply
