James Close, Government Services Partner at Ernst & Young, comments on the decision today by the Chancellor to increase the monies available under The Growing Places Fund:
“This announcement brings some good news and we believe it is a great opportunity for money to be invested in low carbon projects along with the Green Enterprise Zone. This can be used to build on London’s positioning as the low carbon capital as set out by the Mayor’s vision.
“More importantly, it should encourage and attract foreign direct investment which is vital for the growth of London and the wider economic stability of the entire UK economy. This is the first of many steps towards delivering the Mayor’s longer term vision but should be welcomed by business due to the economic benefits it can bring.”
