Ernst & Young scoops Management Consultancies Association Awards
London 20 April 2012: Ernst & Young's Advisory practice took home two awards and a highly commended last night at the prestigious Management Consultancies Association (MCA) awards. The awards recognise outstanding achievements and are the benchmark for quality within the consulting industry.
Ernst & Young collected two top awards for the following projects:
MCA Strategy Project award – Xerox
Ernst & Young achieved $100m worth of cost saving for the European Channels Group of Xerox. Strategic initiatives for the production business project provided an uplift of 5% Gross Margin in the short term and an additional 7% in the long term. Ernst & Young delivered a highly valuable lead to future profitability and on this basis, was asked to return to work on another project for Xerox.
MCA People Project award- Private Equity Foundation/ThinkForward
Last year, one in every 10 teenagers leaving school in Britain failed to make a successful transition to the next stage of their lives. This is the equivalent of two children in every final-year classroom failing to successfully transition to further education, employment, or training (becoming NEET).
The Private Equity Foundation asked Ernst & Young to undertake a study to understand the root causes of young people becoming NEET. Ernst & Young diagnosed the underlying challenges and examined programmes across the developed world, but also worked with schools, local providers, local authorities and NEET children in Shoreditch to get to the heart of the problem.
Following this analysis they developed a response called ThinkForward. This achieved an 88% NEET reduction in the Shoreditch pilot, which, when scaled nationally, has the potential to drive teen engagement towards the highest levels in Europe.
In addition, Ruth Whitfield was recognised as Highly Commended in the "Change Management Consultant of the Year" category for her role in the ThinkForward project.
Harry Gaskell, Head of Ernst & Young’s UK and Ireland Advisory practice, said: "We are delighted that our work has been recognised by the MCA as best practice in its field. It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams involved in these projects which delivered outstanding results for our clients.”
The MCA Awards recognise the best of the best of UK consulting talent. The awards celebrate the achievements of individual consultants at all stages of their careers and provide an insight into what it takes to be an outstanding management consultant.
