EY is the strongest accounting and business brand in the UK
EY has been recognised as the UK’s strongest accounting and business brand in the influential Superbrands annual league table for 2013, a listing of those brands that have established the finest reputation in their fields.
For the first time in Superbrands eight year history, EY has taken the number one spot – knocking PwC from first to fourth position this year.
Steve Varley, UK chairman and managing partner at EY, said, “I am really proud of the EY global brand. The insights and quality services we deliver help build trust and confidence in the capital markets and in economies the world over. Being the number one brand in our sector is a tribute to all our people, and is recognition of our focus on globalisation, entrepreneurship and being the most diverse and inclusive employer in our industry.”
Varley added, “We are committed to contributing to building a better working world, harnessing the power of our people and clients to make a difference to the communities in which we work. In the UK, for example, we helped found the Social Business Trust, which invests in UK social enterprises; established ThinkForward with the Private Equity Foundation, an organisation set up to reduce the number of school children at risk of becoming NEETS; and launched a business-led UK National Equality Standard in collaboration with the Equality & Human Rights Commission.”
Brands do not apply or pay to be considered for Superbrands status. Rather, the accolade is awarded to the country’s strongest brands following a rigorous and independent selection process that consults marketing experts, business professionals and thousands of British consumers.
Steve Cheliotis, Chief Executive of The Centre for Brand Analysis said, "EY are a powerful brand that has firmly placed in the UK's top 50 ever since 2006, when The Centre for Brand Analysis begun undertaking the Business Superbrands survey. Its focus on talent and innovative, quality services has reaffirmed its long-held position as a trusted adviser to a wide range of small, medium and large businesses. Its well regarded brand continues to remain one that business leaders and marketing experts alike recognise, respect and trust”.
EY is one of the country’s leading employers and one of the UK’s Top Ten Best Large Workplaces in the Great Place to Work listing 2012. It was also named Top Professional Services Firm and Third Most Attractive European Employer by Universum’s first European Talent Attraction Index 2012.
