EY achieves double success in Top 50 list of most inspiring LGBT role models

London, Tuesday 22 October 2013: EY’s Beth Brooke and Liz Bingham have been named in a Top 50 list of inspiring LGBT business leaders by OUTstanding in Business.

Beth Brooke, EY’s Global Vice Chair - Public Policy,  was second in the list, and Liz Bingham, Managing Partner for Talent in the UK & Ireland was ranked in 18th place.

Designed to encourage greater diversity in Britain’s Boardrooms, the listing celebrates gay and lesbian business leaders who are at an executive level; positive and visible role models; and who are also actively contributing to the LGBT agenda.

Commenting on her success Beth Brooke said: "It is important to me, both within EY and the wider business community, to champion the critical message that ‘difference matters.’ I am honoured to be recognised as a role model in doing so and as part of a campaign like OUTstanding in Business.  We need to acknowledge LGBT professionals in positions of influence in business and increase their visibility. LGBT professionals worldwide bring a unique and valuable perspective to the table. The war for talent is increasingly fierce and attracting and retaining LGBT professionals is not only the right thing to do, it’s critical for better innovation and business performance.

Liz Bingham added: “I feel truly honoured and humbled to be included in OUTstanding in Businesses’ Top 50 list alongside such inspirational and successful role models. By sharing our experiences, both professional and personal, I hope we are able to continue to use our influence to support and encourage future generations. It’s vital that businesses attract and celebrate diverse talent, to be able to draw on the widest spectrum of views.”
