We can confirm that London Stock Exchange Group yesterday announced its intention to appoint EY as its external auditor following a competitive tender.

EY is the market-leader in market infrastructure globally, auditing some of the world’s largest exchanges and clearing houses, and is number two in terms of market share of banking audits in Europe. As a firm EY is committed to developing and growing its financial services audit practice in the UK.

Isabelle Santenac, Head of Audit for Financial Services in EMEIA says: “We have always been extremely proud to audit leading exchanges and clearing houses across the world. We’re actively involved in the debate around the future of audit and proud of the contribution our profession makes to the critical functioning of the world’s capital markets. Our financial services business is delighted and honoured to be selected as the global auditor of such a renowned institution as London Stock Exchange Group.”

London Stock Exchange Group is the latest in a number of recent large UK audit wins for EY. Other wins, over the last few weeks, include the BBC and a major proportion of the UK's Local Authority audits.
