Kevin MacAuley leads Indirect Tax Accountancy Risk Advisory Services (ITARAS) and the London VAT Group. Kevin joined Ernst & Young ten years ago. He helps clients improve their performance and manage risks associated with operational VAT issues.

Chris SangerChris Sanger
Head of Tax Policy

Chris leads Ernst & Young’s Tax Policy team, which advises clients in the UK and globally on how to effect policy change through strategically engaging policy makers. He is a member of the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury’s Forum of Tax Professionals, from where he advises on the making of tax policy.

Chris is the immediate past Chairman of the Tax Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Chairman of the ICAEW’s Tax Policy Committee and the Chartered Institute of Taxation’s Management of Taxes Committee and a member of the Tax Law Review Committee of the Institute of Fiscal Studies. He is also founding Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association.

Chris is a regular writer and commentator on tax policy and frequently features in print and broadcast media, including appearances on TV and the Today programme. He has wide-ranging experience at a senior level in advising governments internationally on technical policy options, tax legislation, economic matters and fiscal costings.

Patrick StevensPatrick Stevens
Tax Partner, small businesses and personal finance

Patrick has been a tax advisor and commentator for some 25 years. He advises a wide range of businesses on tax matters ranging from quoted companies to investment funds to professional partnerships to wealthy individuals. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor. He is on the Council of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. He appears regularly on television and in newspapers and magazines commenting on recent developments in taxation and on the economy as it is affected by taxation.
