Supply Chain and Operations - Ernst & Young - United Kingdom

Supply Chain and Operations

The issues our clients face daily at the strategic, management and operational level are becoming increasingly complex. The supply chain, and the impact it can have on an organisation’s performance and cost base, is no exception.

Our Supply Chain & Operations team works with CEOs, COOs and CFOs of leading global organisations to analyse, design and implement supply chain-based solutions to solve their most complex business challenges.

We work closely with other parts of our organisation – tax, mergers and acquisitions; working capital and financial management – to provide one integrated service to our clients.

Our approach is always tailored to our clients’ business circumstances - working collaboratively, we deliver advice that meets their specific needs.

Procurement – we help build a tailored transformation programme that targets the role of procurement within an organisation. From global operating model design and strategy to procurement operations, we focus on realising long-term, sustainable benefits.

Supply Chain management and assurance – we transform enterprises from a collection of local and regional operations, facilities and networks into a coherent, optimised global supply chain.

Operational strategy and performance improvement – we connect operational performance to strategy to ensure alignment to the future direction of our clients’ businesses. We perform supply chain and operational due diligence and assessment services to support business decisions.

Tax effective supply chain management (TESCM) – we bring a multi-disciplinary approach to helping clients reshape their supply functions, unlocking benefits by reducing operating costs and optimising the tax rates.

Supply chains in distress – unseen risks, immediate defences and long-term remedies

The rise of complex, integrated supply chains, along with the recent global downturn, has increased the probability that critical suppliers will encounter supply disruptions and financial duress. The consequences – from an inability to deliver on promises to customers to losing access to a supplier's intellectual property – can be dire. Prudent management teams are taking note of the rising number of failed suppliers and are initiating actions to assess and mitigate potential near-term supply risks.
