CFO: need to know - optimism slips among finance executives
CFOs continue to be optimistic about the US economy, but less so than at the end of 2013, according to the latest CNBC Global CFO Council poll, which is sponsored exclusively by EY. New data show that 67% of CFOs think the economy is improving, compared to 82% who felt this way at the end of last year.

Tax Alert 2014-148: US GAAP income tax accounting considerations of the Mexican 2014 Tax Reform
The final components of Mexico’s 2014 tax reform (Final Reform) were published in the Official Gazette on 11 December 2013, after having been signed by President Peña Nieto on 6 December 2013. The final step in enacting a tax law in Mexico is for the president to publish the law in the Official Gazette. Therefore, the enactment date of the Final Reform is 11 December 2013. The changes included in the Final Reform are generally effective for tax years beginning on or after 1 January 2014.

Timeliness of executive compensation disclosures in registration statements
A registrant that files a registration statement on Form S-1 after its fiscal year-end must disclose executive compensation for its most recent fiscal year, even before it files its Form 10-K. A Form S-3 registration statement (other than an automatic shelf registration by a well-known seasoned issuer) filed after the filing of Form 10-K must disclose executive compensation for the most recent fiscal year, even if the proxy statement has not yet been filed. This document tells you what you need to know about the requirements for updating executive compensation disclosures in registration statements.
