With no funding or backing, Dr. Janet B. Reid left her job of 10 years at Procter & Gamble to launch her own marketing and management company in the basement of her home.
She joined forces with Lynch Brown & Associates to form Global Lead. The foundation of the business was the creation of a series of sessions addressing how corporations around the world can effectively work together given the varying differences in culture, leadership/management style and religious beliefs.
In 2010, the company acquired its biggest competitor, Novations, to form Global Novations. The company helps the world's leading organizations unleash the capacity of their employees and provides an enhanced suite of services around diversity and inclusion, talent optimization, and market optimization.
Currently, the company is in 32 countries with more than 300 employees. The company is spending a great deal of time in Africa, recruiting and slating potential buyers. The plan is to expand upon its US operations and become a global force.
In the next three to five years, Reid would like to acquire a Middle Eastern, African or Asian partner. She would like to continue to hire, build new spaces and acquire internationally.
