Anthony Scaramucci
SkyBridge Capital, LLC
New York, New York

When Anthony Scaramucci founded SkyBridge Capital in 2005 with three employees, he wanted to build a firm that would provide sales and marketing guidance for other newly formed hedge fund companies in exchange for a portion of the fund’s business.

Six years later, Scaramucci now runs one of the world’s largest “fund of funds” firms, and Skybridge continues to “seed” new hedge funds with start-up capital. Scaramucci considers himself a “capital artist,” seeking to sell an experience, not just a product. For example, he turned his hedge fund conference, SALT (SkyBridge Alternatives Conference), into a renowned industry event, and as a prolific writer and author has attracted enough attention to win significant branding exposure for his firm.

As a hedge fund manager, Scaramucci also believes in watching his investors’ money closely, renting modest office space and holding costs down by not using color ink. On the other hand, he’s not afraid to spend on perks that make a difference for employees — paying for all of their health care plans and catering lunches.

Scaramucci also gives back to the community, particularly to charities that hold special meaning for him.  He joined The Brain Tumor Foundation for his father, who had a brain tumor, and developed a “Wall Street Crash Course” for seniors at his alma mater, Tufts University, to prepare them for life after graduation.
