The success of the program relies on the efforts of our independent panel of judges. These business, civic and community leaders, some of whom have been EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award winners, devote significant effort to reviewing and deliberating the merits of each nominee. We deeply appreciate their dedication to this process.
    

Central Midwest judge David Brain David Brain
David Brain is the President and CEO, as well as a Board Member/Trustee, of EPR Properties, an NYSE-traded real estate investment trust. He co-founded the company in 1997 and served as its original CFO. He was a recipient of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011 Central Midwest Region Master Award.
 
Midwest Judge Glenn Lyon John Brandmeyer
John Brandmeyer is CEO of Cognios Capital. Prior to leading Cognios, John held various senior-level positions at Enturia, an industry leader in medical products. He was instrumental in building Enturia’s innovative industry leadership and formulating the negotiations that resulted in the divestiture of Enturia to Cardinal Health.
 
Central Midwest judge John Dubinsky John Dubinsky
John Dubinsky is a director at Stifel Financial, a national investment banking and wealth management firm (NYSE). John is also Chairman of Stifel Bank & Trust; and a director of Drury Hotels, and he does advisory financial and governance consulting. He currently serves on the boards of Washington University in St. Louis, National Public Radio Foundation, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He also serves as Chairman of both CORTEX and the St. Louis Public Library.
 
Hillman Tom Hillman 
Tom Hillman is Managing Partner at FTL Capital LLC, where he takes an active leadership role with each of its current portfolio companies. Tom has been involved with private business enterprises over the course of his career, during which time he’s owned more than 30 companies in a wide variety of industries.
 
Central Midwest judge Terry Matlack Terry Matlack 
Terry Matlack is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Tortoise Capital Advisors. Prior to joining Tortoise Capital, he was a partner at Kansas City Equity Partners and was involved in several entrepreneurial companies in the communications industry. He serves on the Board of the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, the U.S. Bank Kansas City Market Board and the Association for Corporate Growth. Terry is a member of the Kansas and American Bar Associations.

Dave Spence is the CEO and majority owner of Legacy Pharmaceutical Packaging and a board member at Alpha Packaging. He won the Fast Track Award from the Missouri Chamber of Commerce in 2010 for Alpha Packaging as well as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 1999 Central Midwest Region Manufacturing Consumer Products Award for Alpha Plastics, Inc.
