When does the 2014 nomination process begin and how do I receive notification?
Our call for nominations kicks off at the beginning of January. To ensure that you are notified, please click here to request to be added to the distribution list.

Who can submit a nomination for consideration?
Anyone who is associated with a successful entrepreneur can nominate a candidate. This includes spouses, employees, bankers, attorneys, public relations managers or entrepreneurs themselves. Self-nominations are encouraged! After all, no one knows the dimensions of an entrepreneur's success better than the entrepreneur.

Do I have to be an EY client?
You do not need to be a client or have any relationship with EY as it pertains to services.

Are application forms kept confidential?
Yes. The information on the application form will be used by EY (in connection with the administration of the award), the sponsors (non-financial information), and the independent national and regional panels of judges.

Is there a cost associated with this program?
There is no cost to submit a nomination.

How do I submit a nomination?
Nominations can be submitted through a secure online website: https://eoy-nomination.ey.com

What is the time commitment?
We estimate that the total time commitment for finalists from January through June is between 8 to 10 hours:

  • Complete nomination (2 hours)
  • Interview (2 hours)
  • Finalist networking reception, video filming and photography (2.5 hours)
  • June awards gala (4 hours)

Who are the judges?
The regional independent panels of judges include members of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame as well as other entrepreneurs and prominent leaders from business, academia and the media.

How many award recipients will be selected?
Each independent regional judging panel selects categories and award recipients based on the quality and quantity of the nominations received. Each independent panel of judges is allowed complete discretion in determining categories and award recipients.

What categories will be honored nationally?
In the past, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year national awards have been presented in the categories below. The EY National Entrepreneur Of The Year is named from one of these categories.

When are the Entrepreneur Of The Year regional awards?
Winners are honored at regional award galas during the month of June.

When are the Entrepreneur Of The Year national awards?
The annual Entrepreneur Of The Year national awards gala is held in Palm Springs in mid-November every year. The gala is the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum a weeklong gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies. The highlight and culminationg event of the weekend is Saturday evening's national awards gala, where the national finalists and winners are named.

What is the Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame?
The Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame was created to celebrate the accomplishments of the world's great entrepreneurs and to make the general public more aware of the benefits they provide to the world economy and our global communities. All Entrepreneur Of The Year regional award winners are inducted into the Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame.

What is the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award?
The year's country winners from around the world will gather in Monte Carlo, Monaco, to be inducted into the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Academy and to vie for the title of World Entrepreneur Of The Year. Today, more than 50 countries worldwide are participating. The 2013 EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year awards will be held on June 8 in Monte Carlo. Entrepreneur Of The Year is the only global business recognition program held on six continents in more than 50 countries and more than 140 cities around the world.
