2013 Road to Palm Springs
In 2001, Dawn Ainger showed up for her job as a software engineer to find the doors locked and the company shut down. She knew she had to act — and fast. Dawn decided to buy the company from the existing, bankrupt owner, and she led a turnaround that established Genova as a national provider of information technology services for the health care, defense, government and commercial sectors.
To immediately generate revenue, Dawn diversified the company by focusing on IT market segments and eventually winning contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Department of Defense.
Today, the company continues on a sustainable path for growth. When a contract includes tasks that exceed Genova’s expertise, Dawn subcontracts the work to companies that would otherwise be competitors. As a result, clients get the best product possible, and Genova and its “co-petitors” form a strategic alliance, unlocking the doors of possibility.
