Fall 2013 edition of EY Navigator
Meet Mark Weinberger, our new Global Chairman and CEO
On July 1, 2013, EY proudly announced that Mark Weinberger will serve as our new Global Chairman and CEO. Mark, 51, has had a distinguished career with a track record of leadership both inside and outside EY. He previously served as the Global and Americas Head of Tax and on the Global and Americas Executive Committee. He has been a senior Advisory partner for many of EY’s largest clients, and he also served on the Global Markets Executive Committee and Global Public Policy Committee. Mark was the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury (Tax Policy) under President George W. Bush and was appointed to the US Social Security Advisory Board by President William Clinton.
“It is a privilege to lead this great organization in these dynamic times, and I’m looking forward to tackling the challenges ahead,” said Mark. “EY has a proud history that stretches back more than a century. Over that time we have forged our reputation based on quality, trust and integrity. We are building on our history and our reputation to create our future.”
At EY, we make a promise to our people: whenever you join and however long you stay, the exceptional EY experience lasts a lifetime. We are proud of the relationships we have with our alumni, many of whom go on to serve in industry, government and even the not-for-profit sector.
We also regularly welcome back former team members who choose to rejoin EY — so regularly, in fact, that we have a name for them: EY boomerangs. These individuals return with valuable experience and perspectives that enrich our organization, which is exactly what new Global Chairman and CEO and four-time EY boomerang Mark Weinberger intends to do.
