Managing your performance
You want a clear sense of what is expected of you, how you’re doing and how you contribute to our business goals. Our performance management and development process (PMDP) – an integral part of our career development framework – aligns your individual objectives and development plan to those of the business. The process consists of annual goal-setting and six-month reviews, which give you the opportunity to discuss your progress with your line manager and update your development plan. As a result, we’ll make sure you have the learning, experiences and coaching you need to perform your role successfully.
You’ll develop personalized goals that specify your objectives in areas such as people, quality, growth and operations. This will form the focus of your review meetings.
In addition to the mid-year PMDP meetings, we encourage you to talk to your counselor (usually your line manager) on a regular basis to raise any concerns or to clarify any performance issues. And of course you’ll also be continuously learning and receiving feedback as you gain experience on the job.
Developing others is a goal we all share at Ernst & Young. And as you advance within the firm, you’ll be expected to provide formal and informal input and feedback for others as well. It’s how we all succeed together.
