What was EY's interview process like for you?

I found it to be especially interactive. I spoke with or met a majority of the team during the recruiting process, which gave me the chance to absorb the team's personality (easy-going, yet exceptionally bright). Also, doing case study interviews was new to me, but my current teammates in Commercial Advisory Services put me at ease through the process, which helped a great deal.

What's a "week in the life" at EY like for you?

Busy! You will not be bored. On a daily basis, I am using research and conversations with experts to understand and analyze an industry. My team and I discuss findings and brainstorm concepts, translating it all into customized strategic insight to create deliverables and present it to our clients. And during all this, I’m jumping in to help out with either a business proposal for a new client or possibly a team recruiting event.

What has been your favorite project or client experience so far?

Though healthcare was never previously an industry that I was looking to dive into, my most exciting project was with a global pharmaceutical company. We helped the client create an innovation program — from scratch! The company sought to step beyond their core business and create strategic partnerships and investments in the broader healthcare arena. We not only worked to develop their business strategy, but also helped them "operationalize" it ... in what was a very entrepreneurial environment.

What interests or hobbies do you have outside of work?

I am learning to cook traditional South Indian food.

Why did you choose EY?

I started my career in management consulting, and then worked for a small venture capital fund before I joined business school. Coming to EY gave me a way to very uniquely combine both of those experiences into a single career. The opportunity to do strategy consulting in an investment environment, for a brand name firm, is not easy to come by.
