Ernst & Young LLP’s Advisory Health Care practice announces appointment of Jan Oldenburg to senior management team
San Francisco, 14 May 2014
Ernst & Young LLP announced today that Jan Oldenburg, former vice president of physician and patient engagement at Aetna Accountable Care Solutions, has joined the firm as a senior manager in its Advisory Health Care Practice. Oldenburg has extensive experience working with accountable care organizations to create and implement patient-centered care and patient engagement programs.
“Jan is a nationally recognized thought leader on patient engagement who will add to our practitioners’ depth of expertise,” said Jim Costanzo, the EY Global Health Leader and the EY Americas Advisory Health Care Sector Leader. “The knowledge and skills that Jan brings to EY will be invaluable to our clients as they transform their business performance to meet the challenges of today’s rapidly evolving health care systems.”
Under Oldenburg’s leadership, Aetna Accountable Care Solutions developed patient engagement strategies that built loyalty to the provider, met care management and quality goals and encouraged patients to take personal action to transform their health. She previously worked as senior manager of the Digital Services Group at Kaiser Permanente where she developed and implemented a go-paperless strategy that resulted in millions of dollars in savings and developed and implemented the integration of financial and health plan information into personal health records.
Oldenburg is a past president of the Northern California HIMSS Board, a HIMSS fellow and Vice Chair of the National HIMSS Connected Patient Committee. She served as the primary editor of Engage! Transforming Healthcare through Digital Patient Engagement, published by HIMSS press in March 2013. Oldenburg frequently speaks and writes about patient and physician engagement.
