Chicago, 12 September 2011 – Ernst & Young LLP recently announced that key professionals from the Tax Risk & Process Reengineering Practice of True Partners Consulting (TPC) based in Chicago have joined the firm. This investment further builds on Ernst & Young’s team and capabilities that help clients address the growing demands of tax functions and achieve enhanced performance.

As a result of this transaction, a core professional team from TPC’s Tax Risk & Process Reengineering Practice moved to Ernst & Young LLP, which also acquired TPC’s intellectual property related to that practice. Among those joining Ernst & Young from TPC is Andrea Gronenthal, who has been appointed Ernst & Young LLP’s Midwest Tax Performance Advisory Leader. Gronenthal and the team joining from TPC are now based in the firm’s Chicago office.

With more than 20 years of federal and state taxation experience, Gronenthal is part of a regional practice that will serve companies across all aspects of the tax life cycle, including planning, provision, compliance and controversy. She will also work closely with Ernst & Young LLP’s national Tax Performance Advisory practice to build connections with Midwest-based clients. Furthermore, she will be responsible for recruiting and developing the Midwest Tax Performance Advisory team, and expanding the practice.

“We are very pleased to welcome Andrea to the team,” says Peter Griffin, Midwest Tax Managing Principal for Ernst & Young LLP. “Globalization, regulation, increased transparency and shorter financial cycles are just some of the factors facing corporate tax leaders today. The depth and breadth of Andrea’s knowledge will provide clients with valuable insight to help them meet these challenges and enhance their tax function performance across the enterprise.”

Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Gronenthal served as a Managing Director at TPC where she established and led a team focused on effective tax risk management and process improvement. Her experience also includes serving as the National Practice Director of Tax Risk at Hudson Financial Solutions, and the Assistant Tax Manager of North Americas Operations for Norsk Hydro. A frequent speaker on tax matters, Gronenthal earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration for Accounting and a Master’s of Professional Accountancy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is a member of the Association for Computers and Taxation, Chicago Tax Club and the Financial Executives Networking Group.
