Debbie Lew named to ISACA’s Board of Directors
New York, 16 June 2014
Ernst & Young LLP announced today that Debbie Lew, an Executive Director and an IT governance and risk management capabilities (GRC) leader, was appointed to the ISACA International Board of Directors and to the Audit Committee for the term 2014 to 2015.
“I am very excited about this appointment to join the ISACA board and look forward to working with ISACA members to help steer IT assurance, governance and security professionals in policy and certification matters,” said Lew. “We are at a watershed moment when the increased number of cyber-attacks is drawing more attention to the protection of enterprises and to managing risk. Companies and IT professionals may rely even more on ISACA as the trusted source for information and technology knowledge, community, standards and certification, and I will work to uphold that trust.”
“Debbie personifies the type of leader ISACA seeks to help shape policies and standards based on her extensive GRC experience,” said Dan Casciano, a Principal with Ernst & Young LLP and the EY Americas Leader of IT Risk Management services. “We are proud of her nomination and know she will serve with passion to continue to shape our profession in a relevant and positive way.”
Lew is a past president of the ISACA Los Angeles Chapter and has served on a variety of ISACA volunteer bodies. Those groups included ISACA's Membership and Education boards, the Audit Committee and the COBIT 4.0/4.1 Steering Committee. She is currently on the COBIT 5 enterprise assessment task force.
Lew is a frequent speaker on governance, risk management and COBIT at ISACA conferences. She teaches GRC at California State University, Northridge. Lew has more than 15 years of banking and insurance experience prior to EY in internal audit, business process re-engineering, and strategic planning and project management.
