World Entrepreneur Awards Programme
Master Entrepreneur Awards category The Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year awards programme, co-sponsored by First National Bank and in association with the Gordon Institute of Business Science, celebrates the achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs and ensures that their contribution to their country’s economic and social progress is widely recognised and honoured. It is considered the world’s premier business award.
The programme was founded by the Milwaukee office of Ernst & Young in 1986 to find and celebrate the state’s most talented and successful entrepreneurs. It has since developed into an international programme, honouring the best entrepreneurs in approximately 50 countries.
In South Africa, the awards programme provides a unique opportunity to celebrate the business leaders of this country, people who have made a difference in our country by turning an individual dream into the reality of wealth, job creation and growth for their respective industries, as well as for the South African economy as a whole.
The sponsors of this event have a long history of supporting the entrepreneurial spirit and are dedicated to helping entrepreneurial growth companies succeed.
The South African winner will represent South Africa early in 2010 at the “Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year” event in Monte Carlo, where s/he will compete against an expected 40 country winners, from across the globe.
