Gugu Msibi, named as one of the World's top 100 Dynamic Women by Arise magazine

Johannesburg, November 2012: Gugu Msibi, Head of Strategy & Public Affairs at Ernst & Young, Africa has been named as one of the World’s top 100 Dynamic Women by Arise magazine. She was listed under the Business and Law category alongside Phuti Malabie, Genevieve Sangudia, Ngozi Edozien, Dambisa Moyo, Thuli Madonsela and others. Arise magazine is Africa’s first international magazine that highlights and provides a positive portrayal of African achievements in politics, business and culture.

This is one of the many accolades that Gugu has received in recent years. In 2011 she was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. This prestigious award is conferred on individuals under the age of 40 who have a proven track record of substantial leadership experience. She is also a Fellow of the fourth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa, a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network and in 2011 made the Forbes’ 20 Youngest Power Women in Africa list.

“It is really a huge honour every time I receive such recognition. This illustrates that all the work done is not in vain but has a direct impact on people. As a woman in a leadership role, I believe it is part of my responsibilities to mentor the young women around me and assist in grooming future African leaders,’ says Gugu.

Gugu has demonstrated her leadership strengths among her colleagues by engaging them strategically in significant areas of the business related to both its public sector and market strategies.
