Stephen Koseff, CEO of Investec, tonight, 6 November 2013, emerged victorious in the Master Entrepreneur category of the Southern Africa Chapter of the EY World Entrepreneur Awards. The awards celebrate 16 years of recognising entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence in their respective fields of work.

Hassen Adams, Executive Chairman of Grand Parade Investments was named the winner in the Exceptional Entrepreneur category, and Rob Stokes, Founder and CEO of Quirk named the winner in the Emerging Entrepreneur category.

Stephen Koseff will fly the Southern African flag high alongside his West and Eastern African counterparts next year when he competes at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year event in Monte Carlo. He will vie against country winners from an expected 50 nations. The global programme celebrates the achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs and ensures that their contribution to their country’s economic and social progress is widely recognised and honoured. It is considered one of the world’s premier business awards akin to the business Oscars globally.

Master entrepreneur category winner of the EY World Entrepreneur Awards 2013, Stephen Koseff, BCom, CA(SA), H.Dip. BDP, MBA serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Investec PLC.

He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Investec Ltd and Investec Bank Limited. He has been an Executive Director of Investec Bank Limited since June 30, 1990. He joined Investec in 1980. He serves as a Director of Investec Securities Ltd., Investec ... Asset Management, Investec Bank (Israel) Limited, Investec Bank (UK) Limited, JSE Limited, Bidvest Group Ltd., Fedsure Holdings Ltd., and Ubank Ltd.
He serves as a Non-Executive Director at Investec Bank plc. He serves as a Non Executive Director of Investec Bank (Australia) Limited, Rensburg Sheppards plc, Investec Finance plc and of Rensburg Fund Management Ltd.

Mr. Koseff is the recipient of various business awards. He is a Chartered Accountant. Mr. Koseff has earned a B.Com. and an M.B.A.

Exceptional entrepreneur category winner of the EY World Entrepreneur Awards 2013, Hassen Adams is known as the man who brought Burger King to South Africa.

He has a H. Dip. Civil Engineering (PenTech), Prof. Tech. Eng. and has been the Executive Chairman of Grand Parade Investments Limited since February 11, 2011. He is a Consulting Engineer and a founding Member of GPI.

Hassen Adams serves as the Chairman of Sunwest International (Pty) Ltd. He also serves as Director of Cape Town Fish Market, Retail Corporation, Gold Circle and Grindrod Limited.
GPI is a black owned JSE listed company owning investments and operation in the South African gaming and leisure industry. Since its establishment in 1997, the company has positioned itself as a formidable player in the industry.  Its investments include Grande West Casino and Table Bay Hotel.

Emerging entrepreneur category winner of the EY World Entrepreneur Awards 2013, Rob Stokes is the Founder and CEO of Quirk, Africa’s largest full service online marketing agency established in 1999 and now South Africa’s 4th biggest advertising agency according to AdReview.

It has achieved incredible growth, doubling revenue year on year for the last three years and at one stage, adding a new member of staff every three days in 2011.
He is also the owner and founder of a number of technology and software businesses, including Quirk, Brands Eye and Idea Bounty. Furthermore, Rob was the first Chairman of the Silicon Cape Initiative, an organisation created to promote technology entrepreneurship in the Western Cape.

In 2012 he was also accepted into the Young President’s Organisation (YPO) a well-regarded, global network of Chief Executives.
