Welcome!

Ernst & Young's Africa Attractiveness Survey provides evidence of the growing interest in the African continent as an investment destination and place to do business.

In the current global economic context, it would be difficult to find an alternative investment destination that offers 10-15 years of sustained economic growth off a platform of ongoing political and socio-economic reform and progress, a diverse group of economies among the fastest growing in the world, and profitability levels and rates of return that are among the highest in the world.

For companies seeking to grow and investors seeking higher returns, the African growth story therefore stands out. Although a perception gap does remain among many investors that have not yet ventured into Africa – lingering concerns about factors such as political risk, corruption, the challenges of doing business – those already doing business on the continent understand that many African countries actually benchmark well against their emerging market peers, that the risks can be managed, and that the rewards on offer make these markets viable alternatives to the ultra-competitive Asian and other rapid growth markets.

The focus of our Growing Beyond Strategic Growth Forum (SGF) - Africa 2013 will therefore be on the practical realities of growing and doing business in and across the African continent. CEOs, leading entrepreneurs, investors, industry experts and government officials, all with a passion for Africa, will convene, providing an unparalleled opportunity to network, learn and hear stories from those who are successfully growing and making a difference across Africa.

The themes addressed will be of particular relevance to companies keen to capitalise on the growth opportunities Africa offers: where the opportunities are emerging, key challenges of doing business across the continent, and how these challenges are being addressed by business pioneers and governments.

Sincerely,
