EY Brisbane increases partner numbers

Monday 23 July 2012 - EY’s Brisbane office partner numbers are at an all time high, following the promotion of six new partners and two new external recruits.

EY Brisbane Managing Partner, Jenny Parker, says the growth reflects the depth of talent in the organisation as well as the strong resources-fuelled economic outlook for Queensland.

The total number of Queensland partners for EY is now 44. Six new partners have been promoted across the four main service lines in Brisbane: Damien Bourke and Shannon James in Tax; Ian Drummond and Anthony Oostenbroek in Advisory; Michael Fenech in Transactions; and Kellie McKenzie in Assurance.

In addition to the promotions, two new external hire partners, David Stewart and David Wilson, have also recently been appointed to the Brisbane office in the Advisory and Tax practices respectively.

“The next generation of partners is vital to our continued success. At EY we invest in strong talent and capability to develop those people who will lead us into the future,” Parker says.

“These admissions follow a rigorous selection process and are a strong vote of confidence in their leadership potential. This is a huge achievement and I congratulate all of our new partners.

“The focus on increasing our partner ranks reflects current Queensland market opportunities, as well as robust economic growth in the resources sector.

“As a result of increasing demand from our clients, we have also stepped up our investment in key sectors such as mining, oil and gas, and government,” Parker says.

“This is an exciting time to be living and working in Queensland. While there are challenges ahead, there are also big opportunites, both for our clients and for EY.

“I look forward to working with all of our partners and people over the next financial year as we continue to drive the growth of EY in the Queensland market, from our brand new offices at One One One Eagle Street,” Parker says.
