Justin Walsh to lead Brisbane transactions team at EY

Wednesday, 23 March 2011 — EY today announced Justin Walsh will lead the firm’s Brisbane Transactions Advisory Services division, taking over from Grant Murdoch who will be retiring from the partnership next year.

Walsh will drive the continued growth of the transactions division in Brisbane, which boasts a team of more than 70 and is a significant part of the firm’s business in the Queensland market.

Murdoch joined the firm in 2004 to lead the transactions team and has overseen considerable growth in the division. He will continue as a senior partner in the firm, focusing on key corporate clients and the non-executive director community.

Further highlighting EY’s increased investment in the local market, after three years in the Adelaide office, transactions partner Angus Blackwood will also be returning to Brisbane from 1 July to focus on the burgeoning opportunities in the resources sector.

This follows the recent addition of Energy Advisory Services’ Matthew Rennie and his team of five to the EY transactions team in Brisbane, to meet the increasing demand for robust economic analysis to assist government and private sector expenditure decisions.

Walsh says it’s an exciting time to be working in the transactions team, with significant opportunities ahead, particularly in resources, government, economic analysis and infrastructure.

Walsh will continue to be very active in the market, focused on banking, government and key corporate clients.
