Friday 26 February 2016
EY has launched its Accelerating Entrepreneurs program in Asia-Pacific, which gives high-potential, fast-growth technology start-ups from across the region access to support to help scale their businesses. The group of selected entrepreneurs will receive a comprehensive program of one-to-one guidance, networking and insight-sharing including:
- A dedicated EY service executive to focus on the business issue most critical to their company’s growth acceleration, including participation in an EY Growth NavigatorTM session to help assess their capabilities to deliver growth plans
- Ongoing mentoring and support from local EY teams involved in entrepreneurial growth
- An all-expenses-paid trip to the EY Strategic Growth Forum® event in Shanghai, 11-12 May 2016, where they will have:
- The opportunity to meet and network with industry-relevant attendees from across Asia-Pacific and the world
- Mentoring and coaching from business leaders and EY professionals in attendance at the 2016 Strategic Growth Forum event in China
Participants will be chosen based on the following criteria: growth opportunity; entrepreneurial spirit and leadership; financial performance; strategic direction; innovative thinking and originality; and people philosophy.
Mike Anghie, EY Asia-Pacific Strategic Growth Markets Leader, said EY’s Accelerating Entrepreneurs program is all about identifying the potential market leaders of tomorrow and helping kick-start their ambitions for growth.
“Asia-Pacific is a region at the heart of the tech revolution with entrepreneurs reimagining what is possible, pushing boundaries of innovation and developing the next generation of technology and services,” Mr Anghie said.
“Through our inaugural Asia-Pacific EY Accelerating Entrepreneurs program, we are providing the leaders of high potential start-ups access to both EY advice and to leading entrepreneurs from across the region and the world, at EY’s Strategic Growth Forum China.”
“That’s why this program is just one of the many ways EY supports entrepreneurs around the world. Each year we invest over US$100 million globally into activities designed to promote the importance of nurturing a robust entrepreneurial culture and helping entrepreneurs and start-ups successfully scale their businesses.”
“We do this through our Entrepreneurial Winning Women events, Family Business NextGen programs, Strategic Growth Forums and of course through our landmark EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards – now run in 145 cities in over 60 countries, including Australia. We also work with entrepreneurs to help plan their growth journey, using our innovative EY Growth Navigator and Growing Beyond Borders tools, and support early stage ventures through our relationships with incubators, providing them with concrete tools, mentorship and invaluable networking opportunities,” Mr Anghie said.
To apply for the EY Accelerating Entrepreneurs program, applicants must be a founder or CEO of an Asia-Pacific headquartered private company with an innovative, technology-enabled product or service. The company must be high-growth, with evidence of funding, revenue growth, market distribution channels or a wide customer base and must be looking to expand internationally.
Applications are now open. Apply at www.ey.com/aep before 11 March 2016.
EY Accelerating Entrepreneurs programs are also running in Europe and North America that will offer entrepreneurs from those regions the chance to receive similar packages of support at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year TM in Monaco (7-12 June 2016) and EY Strategic Growth Forum in Palm Springs, California (16-20 November 2016).
