EY Oceania announces new CEO
Monday, 17 November 2014 - Tony Johnson has been appointed as the new EY Oceania CEO and Regional Managing Partner effective 1 January 2015.
Currently the Asia-Pacific Financial Services Office (FSO) Regional Managing Partner, Tony has significant leadership credentials within EY and in the market.
EY Asia-Pacific Chairman Michael Wachtel commented “Tony has operated at the most senior levels of EY including serving some of world’s largest and most prestigious organisations. Tony brings to the role an excellent reputation for working with key stakeholders including Boards, Audit Committees, senior management and regulators and is passionate about providing exceptional client service and engaging with both the market and EY teams.”
An EY partner for over 16 years, Tony led EY’s Oceania Assurance practice between 2009 and 2012 and has also been an active member of a number of Australian, Asia-Pacific and Global executive leadership committees within the firm.
Wachtel further commented “All the different experiences Tony has had in his career to date provide the optimal background for a leader in the rapidly changing professional services environment. Tony also brings a great deal of value to the Oceania business having been a leader in Asia-Pacific.”

Tony is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia). He is a member of the Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Economics, Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and a MBA (Executive).
Based in Melbourne, Tony and his wife Nathalie have three teenage children.
