EY Azerbaijan hosts committee meeting

EY Azerbaijan hosted the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee monthly meeting organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan on December 21, 2016. The Committee Chairperson, Aynura Piriyeva, opened the meeting by welcoming the members, after which new members of the Committee introduced themselves.

Gunel Farajova, a senior in Cleantech and Sustainability Services at EY, gave a presentation on the importance of sustainable development and innovation. During her address, Gunel covered case studies on various progressive businesses as well as ways to apply existing best practices and innovative measures in Azerbaijan to ensure more sustainable development.

Afterwards, Fariz Ismailzade, Vice Rector of External, Government and Student Affairs at ADA University, gave a talk on the importance of concrete initiatives required to increase the level of awareness of these issues and manage change more effectively.

During the discussions Javid Zamanov from Bos Shelf suggested inviting students and volunteers to meetings, as well as producing short films in order to promote CSR projects. Other members of the Committee participated in this discussion and provided their ideas on the issue.

The meeting concluded with agreement over an action plan and deadlines to increase the level of awareness of sustainability issues and ensure change in society.
