Adding value to society

We strive for a Corporate Responsibility mindset which stimulates sustainable and responsible thinking in the way we do business. At the same time, Corporate Responsibility is a strategy that enables us to use our professional skills in order to promote positive change around the world. To combine these two objectives our Community Engagement initiatives focus on sharing and developing knowledge with and for nonprofit organizations. By doing so we can be of long term added value to the personal and CR-knowledge of our people, to society and to the environment we are part of.


EY Foundation

In the past years, individual partners have launched a great amount of Community Engagement initiatives, such as pro bono work for nonprofit organizations. We have learnt that we can create a bigger added value by joining our efforts and talents and by sharing our experiences. A professional EY Foundation was created in 2010, with a dedicated Foundation board managed by Pieter Jongstra, our organization’s CEO for the Netherlands and Belgium. We developed various criteria to select nonprofit organizations.
We focus on nonprofit organizations that are committed to sustainable entrepreneurship. We mainly support these organizations by putting our knowledge and skills at their disposal. Our aim is to develop specific cooperation with nonprofit organizations. Subsequently, we encourage our people to do voluntary work, pro bono work and to participate in projects in these selected organizations to gain more knowledge on sustainable entrepreneurship.
We started for instance to collaborate with NFTE Belgium and with Ashoka Belgium. NFTE (Network For Training Entrepreneurship) is an organization that encourages young people and helps them set up and maintain their own company. Ashoka is a global organization that supports innovative social entrepreneurs who create awareness of social issues, like Tobias Leenaerts of EVA vzw.


Sports sponsorship

Our sports ambitions correspond very closely with EY’s values: achieving potential, making a difference. These values apply to both personal performance and operating results. It is this mentality that is at the heart of our approach towards our clients and ourselves. This clear link between sports and EY is at the basis of our strong commitment in terms of sports sponsorship.
We are for instance partner of both the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC) and the Belgian Paralympic Committee (BPC) since 2007.
