The previous Deputy Managing Partner Financial Services takes over from Marcel Stalder, who will focus on the overall management of EY Switzerland and his regional management responsibility as Markets Leader for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. As Managing Partner Financial Services, Blumer is a member of the Financial Services leadership team for the region Europe, Middle East, India and Africa and the EY Switzerland Management Committee.
Olaf Toepfer (47) has been named deputy Managing Partner Financial Services and will support Andreas Blumer in his new leadership role. Olaf Toepfer will also continue with his responsibility as Managing Partner Banking and Capital Markets.
Bruno Patusi (43), who previously held the position of Managing Partner, Wealth and Asset Management from 2014 to 2016, has been reappointed to that role to strengthen the market presence of EY in the wealth and asset management sector in Switzerland.
With the new appointments, and following the announcement of Stefan Marc Schmid as Managing Partner Insurance, EY Switzerland has strengthened its dedicated market leadership team to better serve the needs of our clients in a dynamic and changing market.
“With Andreas Blumer at the helm and with the new market leaders, the division will be led by a proven team of specialists with more than 20 years of experience each in serving financial services companies. This strengthening of the leadership team means we are ideally equipped to continue our path to success and further develop our market leadership position in financial services in Switzerland,” says Marcel Stalder, CEO of EY Switzerland.
Over recent years, EY Switzerland has continuously expanded its digitization business, and has invested in data analytics and IT architecture expertise. The auditing and advisory firm offers integrated transformation services covering corporate strategy, business models redesign, control and support functions, and IT architecture and change management.
“In the current economic environment, the need for comprehensive advisory services and first-class auditing expertise for banks, insurance companies and asset managers remains high. I am looking forward to working with the team and to driving digitization at EY and for our clients,” says Andreas Blumer.
Andreas Blumer has worked at EY Switzerland since 1995 and has gained extensive experience leading large and medium-sized auditing and advisory mandates in the financial services sector in Switzerland, Europe and the USA. As a certified auditor and honorary professor with a PhD, he teaches auditing and consulting with a focus on financial services companies at the University of St Gallen.
