In 2014, with a young family, Tim Levy became aware of the harms and risks children face online. He noticed parents were disarmed by big tech and had access to poor parental controls and advice.

Tim imagined a fundamentally different internet. Where parents, schools, and children can collaborate to ensure the benefits of the digital world can be accessed safely.

In 2015 Tim established Family Zone which as its first offering launched as a parental control app. An ASX listing followed later that year. By 2018 Family Zone had entered the competitive US education market and from there business exploded.

Family Zone is now called Qoria, a brand reflective of the company’s vision of an ecosystem approach to student safety and wellbeing.

Over the years Qoria has acquired six specialist providers of safety and wellbeing technology from all parts of the globe. With an absolute focus on purpose, culture and ethics Qoria has since doubled revenue and improved staff engagement and customer value.

Today Qoria is a global leader in online safety and wellbeing. Operating across 5 countries Qoria supports 27 thousand schools and 6 million parents to keep 22 million children safe each day. Qoria is dominant in the UK and US with 38% and 19% of schools respectively.

Tim is a passionate leader and active advocate for online safety and regulatory reform. His work has contributed to important reform recommendations within tech competition.

Tim believes that success is creating something that people want to be part of, something that motivates them to surpass their expectations of themselves.

When it comes to digital safety and student wellbeing, you can’t lose focus for a moment: Qoria still has much to do.
