The SHE Index Powered by EY tool, available in Finland for the first time, helps companies to measure the implementation and development of equality and inclusion. The survey is free of charge and open until February 20. The best-performing companies will be announced at the SHE Conference on March 30.

SHE Index – Powered by EY has been designed in collaboration with SHE Community, a Norwegian promoter of equality. The tool helps organizations assess how far they have come in terms of equality and inclusiveness. It also measures the practices implemented to support change. The tool supports companies in closing the gender gap and enabling women to reach their full potential, among other benefits.

The index is based on a survey submitted by the participating companies. It includes 36 questions within six categories, such as actual gender balance, gender pay gap, and talent and recruitment. Based on the results, the company will receive an index score between 0 and 100. The survey is open until February 20 and is free of charge.

“Organizations can benefit from the SHE Index in many ways. Firstly, they will gain good insight on which D,E & I indicators are important for them to relate to. Secondly, using the She Index indicates that the company takes these matters seriously, aims for long-term change, and commits to their implementation on a top level. The index also supports companies in their sustainability reporting and perhaps other legislation that requires documentation on this. The SHE Index community supports companies and shares information and experiences transparently across various sectors”, says Astrid Skaugseth, CEO at SHE Community.

The companies with the best equality scores will be announced on March 30 at the SHE Conference held at the Cable Factory in Helsinki. Similar conferences will be held in Oslo and Stockholm.

The index was launched in 2018 in Norway and 2020 in Sweden. More than 200 companies have already used the tool to measure their practices and development.
